Who, Why, and How Leki?

I am Emmanuelle, and I am ‘behind’ La Cuisine de Leki

Spring 2022, I am 34 years old, I have 2 children, 10 years in consulting and a 3 years experience abroad …  On the one hand, my experience in catering has made me realize that I love and know how to cook, on the other hand, teaching it has made me realize that I love to pass on and know how to motivate. Besides, being aware of healthy eating and caring for those around me has driven my interest in healthy, local, and high-quality food. 

Healthy cooking and imparting - these are the two fundamentals on which I want to build my life from now on!

That’s why I’ve moved on to nutrition coaching and running cooking classes. For the first time I can talk passionately for hours about my job, and I’m motivated to learn more every day about it.

There’s the knowledge that runs through my family: a grandfather who spent the rest of his life in his vegetable garden, a grandmother who made us eat anything and everything, and one who taught me that eating is one of the great pleasures in life, and my great-grandfather who made me realise that love and trust go a long way.

Additionally, there’s my day-to-day experience:

I collect expertise in preparing  meals for my family, juggling my activities as a business owner, as a volunteer and and parent of school children, and, as I love to host, there are often lots of us at the table on weekends or Wednesdays!

Finally, I can’t imagine working without a solid theoretical basis. That’s why I do a lot of research. I am interested in different dietary lifestyles, authentic recipes and ways of feeling better about the own body. In 2023, I also completed an 805-hour training course in dietetics and nutrition, as well as the HACCP certification in kitchen hygiene and safety.

This is exactly what I bring to the table to create the perfect "éki-pe"(équipe=team) for a joyful moment and help you find "éki-librium"in your plate and your diet! Because that’s where the name Leki comes from!

All that was missing was a love at first sight for a well-designed, unique, and cozy apartment to bring this project to life—and in March 2024, La Cuisine de Leki was born.

We picked it for its uniqueness : the industrial yet cosy décor, its location (right in the heart of Aix-en-Provence, in the city’s culinary hub), and because it just feels like home from the moment you step in!
